Cancer-Free Since 1990 – Featured Healing Story

Updated: Nov 9, 2023

Avner struggled with his cancer diagnosis at 14, leading him into a lifelong journey into healing and discovering radical remission.

His story in his own words:

Please note: Below is an edited, computer-generated translation of Avner’s story from his native language of Hebrew. Some translations may not be accurate.

The Way:

I was fourteen and a half when it was first discovered that I was sick with cancer. It began with a routine visit to the old family doctor. The doctor, who then was a head shorter than me and a half, looked up to my neck, touched a bulge that I was not aware of, and asked, “What is this?” I replied that I did not know, and his response was that I was sent for annoying and endless tests at the hospital.

Two weeks later, I had surgery to remove my thyroid gland with the tumor, which turned out to be cancerous. Then metastases were also found, and therefore I began chemical treatments (using radioactive iodine) to [try to] eliminate the metastases. This was initially successful, but the cancer came back to visit several times, and each time I received another chemotherapy iodine treatment, which helped greatly, until the next time the cancer returned.

At the age of 30, suddenly, during a routine audit, it was discovered that the cancer was back, in the same places: neck, lung, and head. In response, the doctor set up another appointment for chemical treatment with radioactive iodine. This time, for the first time, I did not immediately agree to accept chemotherapy. I asked for a postponement, which would give me time to try and deal with cancer in alternative ways, which I heard about at the same time. My request to postpone treatment was denied, but I nevertheless decided to take responsibility. I rejected chemotherapy treatment on my own, despite the negative response of my doctors.

For three months, I switched to using alternative treatments. I started working with self self-healing techniques, relaxation, and guided imagery. After three months, I went through the same tests again, and I received an official answer from the doctors that there had been no change in the growth of the metastases. In desperation and disappointment, they scheduled me on the spot for chemical treatment. In a flash of intuitive wisdom, before I left, I asked the doctor for copies of the most recent tests. At home, a few hours later, my wife Sarah studied photographs of the tests and showed me that the tumors looked smaller and significantly weaker.

So, again I refused to accept the chemotherapy right away. I was a little skeptical, but I continued to encourage myself to believe in the work, and to keep searching for better health. At the same time, I searched feverishly for a doctor who would agree to be in touch with me and treat me with respect regarding what I was trying to do. After six months passed, I had another test, the same as before, and this time a happy outcome, received after a nerve-wracking week, was that the growth and metastases were smaller – too small, in fact, to require chemotherapy.

I was very happy! I went wild with joy! I celebrated with my family and friends. But I did not see it as a sign of the end of my learning process and recovery, but rather a sign of the success of the path I was on, and therefore, encouragement and a boost to continue on it.

The next five years I continued to work with myself. I learned two methods of alternative medicine therapy, and I was training with the “Jin Shin acupressure.” I treat other people now and teach Jin Shin. I also changed jobs, moved houses, and a fourth daughter was born to me.

After five years, further comprehensive testing showed that the tumor completely disappeared along with all its metastases. Another decision I have made is to use my personal story. I have gained knowledge and experience, and all that I have received along the way I want to use to help other people, especially cancer patients, so that they can find their own way to heal themselves. Indeed, in the last two years, I have started to find ways to do it. I now guide them toward healing themselves, give lectures and hold workshops for various groups, and tell my personal story. As I write, lecture, and coach, I feel I continue to heal myself, too.

Today, I feel healthier, and so I pass the [doctors’] tests every time. I continue to work with myself and look for new ways to find the Fountain of Health, to help people, and do as much as I can for myself, my family, and the world.
