Elizabeth Craig is a Radical Remission survivor of stage 4 anal cancer. Diagnosed at the age of 52, she combined conventional and complementary approaches to overcome incredible odds. Today she has no evidence of cancer.
Here is her story in her own words:
[I had a] sigmoidoscopy, then biopsy to diagnose my anal cancer. The PET scan showed a primary site plus a larger tumor in my abdomen and a lesion on my liver. I went to four hospitals for confirmation and alternative solutions, including Sloan Kettering, Cedars-Sinai, UCLA, City of Hope, and the Burzynski Clinic.
I had been super healthy. I was an acupuncturist, yoga instructor, mostly vegetarian and organic. I was diagnosed in 2012 with stage IV anal cancer. It was a shock to everyone. I was the healthy one. I realized that my mental emotional state was the primary cause. I had been stressed, saddened yet denying it. I resisted chemo, but a family intervention led me to do all therapies: conventional and alternative. I did chemo and every alternative solution possible. I did A LOT of spiritual work.
I went with UCLA for chemo/radiation, but before I started I went to a spiritual therapist who, I believe, was the cure. She recommended a QRA doctor named Mary Kay Finn who put me on supplements and organ cleanses. She said I had a bad root canal which later showed up on a PET scan as an infection in the jaw. [She also recommended] Dr Gruenn, where I did high dose vitamin C and Myers cocktail infusions after chemo, and Nalini Chilkov, who had me on supplements and acupuncture therapy.
I went to a Dare’, and a real indian sweat lodge. But the most powerful therapy I felt in my body came from the 3 sessions per week of spiritual psychology with a woman named Dianne Porchia. She extracted the resentment, fear and pain, and did guided meditations and visualizations which made my cells tingle with miracles and hope.
As far as diet, I fed the cancer cells nothing. I ate zero sugar, [zero] fruit (except lots of lemons and tart green apples, and [zero] simple carbs. I ate mostly vegetables, nuts and beans, veggie soups and stews, veggie juices and some free range, organic, happy chicken eggs.
Within 2 rounds of chemo and 30 radiation [treatments], I was NED. The oncologist was in disbelief.
Regarding what might cause cancer, I feel that my subconscious fears and grief weakened immune system. I was sad at the loss of my mother, stressed from a bad marriage, uprooted by moving, and not acknowledging and nurturing myself. I wasn’t sleeping well, and I had a bad root canal that I didn’t know about, which caused a low grade infection in my jaw, lowering the immune system even more.
EDITOR'S NOTE: As of May 2022 Elizabeth is well and thriving post diagnosis.
